Wouldn't it be accurate to summarize that you have no problems with the concept of AI or how their algorithms generate images, but the problem is essentially how the datasets with which they are trained are being generated? If it was a opt-in mechanic it would likely force the companies running AI image generators to entice artists to opt in by attempting to quantify how much of their generated image was inspired by any given artist and compensate them proportionally. Then artists could opt-in for the extra income and everyone is happy. AI provides quick images on demand, and artists get to make a living and keep making more original pieces which will improve the AI algorithms. It would be nice if they realized this was the way to go before forced to do so by legislation, but.... Well, I had more faith in humanity when i was younger.
