The Public debate has so not been had and it has to go viral now as #openai and microsoft press ahead with rolling out chatgpt4 and maybe AGI.
Google sees that they have been slow to get out of the starting blocks and are desperately playing catch up. This will surely only lead to mistakes but at whose expense?
They both argue these mistakes cant be corrected in a Vacuum and it is best to experiment with humanity to make it safer!
Not a single other industry would be given this freedom to experiment like this in History.
It is very concerning when you see that microsoft had sacked their entire ethics committee in January that only came to light in March.
