Watching this video made me think how ironic it is for me, because I'm benefitiading both from the outsourcing job market overseas (because I'm a latin american gen z dude working for an US company) and the immigration crisis happening right now in the US (because I'm a bilingual interpreter who works translating for these immigrants), and I can totally relay on what you're saying, because I'm getting paid just a quarter of the US minimum wage, but even with that low income, it is enough for me to live an over-the-average style of life, because the minimum wage here in my country is less than 250 dollars per month. So, this income, even minimal for US standarts, helps me, not just pay for all of my basical needs, but even it helped me survive the economical crisis caused by the socialist government we had here for 20 years, and also it allows me to save some money every month for my future projects. However, lately I also I'm feeling the upcoming risks that AI is bringing for us, spanish interpreters. But at least for now, human component is still essential for this job, so I think that I will be able to live thanks to this job for at least 1 or 2 more years, before we are all wiped out from the job market, too 😂 But if you want a conclusion to everything I said so far, is that US is not the entire world, and you can find cheaper lands just going south (I know it can sound silly, but it's true). I met a lot of people here from another countries lately, and many of them are thinking about staying here long term. So, if you are thinking about do some farming, live peacefully and meet new people, learing a new language and going overseas is a great option. Maybe we are not as developed as the US, but what we have here is enough to live with dignity. And if you have savings in dollars, you made it! Just as a recommendation, is good to have someone here or anywhere you're thinking to move to, mainly for safety reasons. And, if you're wondering where I'm from, I'm from Bolivia.
