WHY IS CHARLIE WRONG: There are reasons why licensing AI art should be possible. The main thing is that you can't really draw a line between allowed and unallowed use. If you use it for reference or generating silhouette people for a landscape painting to give it scale. it is allowed. However, painting people on top of generated landscape is AI abuse? If it is, how much more should the artist paint to pass? Another is that in a world where splashing a paint on paper is apparently an art. Banning easy-to-use tools is hypocritical. That doesn't mean stealing art for your AI model is ok, it means having a personal stupid artist trying to express your lazy, untalented ass is ok. Also with AI, great art can come from unexpected source (like in the film ratatouille)
