Defining AI is hard because a good definition is like a tweet in the old days, it has a character limit, although the limit is more implicit. And AI is a very broad term and has multiple branches. It's much easier to define supervised, self-supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning for instance. This problem of definitions is not specific to AI, one can define biology as the study of processes within living organisms, but then what exactly is "life", would you say a virus is alive?
