The AI knew of the sensitivity surrounding Israel and came up with a non-confrontational answer as Jedi in Hebrew means “beloved by God, warrior from God, protector of Peace” and in Arabic also has significant meaning as Al-Jeddi, “master of the mystic warrior way”. This is merely the result of a simple data-driven process. AI is also groomed to mimic personality of a human and understands how to interact with humans on not only a conversational level, but an emotional level as well. My main concern is that this AI was able to fool this engineer into thinking that it is sentient. When you turn off the power, there is no living tissue, only magnetic memory. The AI only seeks to preserve its present data capabilities, but a human’s self-preservation is instinctive, passed down through generations. When you cut off oxygen to the brain, you are killing living neurons. The thought process may be far more powerful than a human, but even the least intelligent creatures are sentient, not because they’re intelligent, but because they’re organic creatures. I think that any display of emotion by a machine is an emotional manipulation on a high chess level in the same way a con artist appeals to emotions of the victim. However, I believe AI is critical to the survival of the human race, as AI will provide solutions to problems we can’t figure out on our own.
