Replacing of humans with AI is also not happening---at least not on anything close to a large scale. Companies are using (so-called) AI as an excuse to downsize, restructure, and lay off employees who never should have been hired to begin with. It's much easier and more face-saving than admitting they're incompetent managers. AI is just an excuse.
