His whole business model has been based on deception. He saved Tesla by securing billions from the government by making untrue promises about his EV tech, before he got the grants he was saving a broke Tesla by telling investors and prospective investors that he already had said grants! which he didn’t have, he only got the award from the government because he had lied about the grants to secure investment which made Tesla on paper appear thriving viable business with brake through tech, which actually lead to him being awarded the government funding. It’s a two hander of deception and very illegal. It gets worst as for the self driving tech to be as effective as it should be ( which is still way bellow the capability’s what he was selling ) it needs LiDAR to function and scan the road. To cut costs teslas don’t have LiDAR they use basic cameras. I can’t say I expect him to actually have any consequences though. Even though he has become the richest man in the world on good PR and a self cultivated genius myth and fraud. He is still incredibly wealthy and probably very well legally insulated even if the company were found to be criminally liable. Plus the current political nightmare of America he can just by himself out of trouble behind the scenes. Feel free to fact check me and correct if any of this is wrong.
