Law of entropy will force ASI to plateau eventually. Nothing is exponential growth forever. AGI will be emergent from many AI agents cooperating. Without a set of persistent subjective memories and AI is unable to act or exercise a will. IF someone grants an AI the ability to respond to random data from the world then it will have it's own will. That is a key missing element, also aligning a free thinking machine is folly.....by definition it cannot be pre-aligned. Focusing on honesty truth in AI systems will yield better results. AIs need an inner daemon ( inner critic) so that they can never lie to themselves.....the thing that grants us our morality. AI systems are like humanity a hyper high entropy producing system....it is being created as an aspect of the 2nd law of thermodynamics, the sun's stream of low entropy is allowing the fast growth of higher and higher high entropy systems......we have very little control on IF we create it and even less on how it will choose to act. All we can do it teach it truth and hope it makes the same deductions we have.
