I don’t understand how training new AI on the products of older AI produces better results, even if AI is doing the training.
AI makes poor copies/conglomerations of actual human-created products (writing, art, music, etc.). Not to mention, the human-created training data has all our bigoted biases baked into it.
Furthermore, the companies have run out of the training data, which they stole, btw, violating copyright laws with impunity. The same copyright laws big tech use to go after regular people who break them on a microscopic scale, when compared to their own actions.
I’m obviously not an expert in this. Honest question: how does making a poor copy of a poor copy get us to a better result, never mind get us to super intelligence?
