I feel like it also demotes brain power. I got a new car today that has automatic parking, although it is really cool I realized that it was just a cop out to not learn something that I couldn't do. Driving really is a skill that teaches most people about situational awareness, emotional regulation, and patience. Self driving cars are just one new way that allows you to not practice those skills.
