I was initially interested in the concept of AI art when I started to hear about it, but something was telling me it was wrong. As someone who has been in love with visual storytelling and concept art for as long as I can remember, but never really got into it (my priorities were different when I was younger), the idea that I could all of a sudden "create" a great piece of "art" was an enticing one. But that was the catch - I would not "create" a piece of "art". I would be stealing it from the artists I've admired for 15-20 years. And whatever these AI generators "create" is NOT art. They are cheap and easy reproductions of works created by outstanding artists like yourself. The ethical issues with the programs you went over in this video just make it all the more clear that these things are stealing intellectual and artistic property of artists - I hope you guys can come together to fight these companies and reclaim your rights to intellectual and artistic freedom. Also - some of those comments you showed are disheartening and frankly enraging. The lack of empathy and self-awareness of people on the internet is honestly mind-blowing sometimes. The reasonable take would be "oh look at these pretty pictures the computer made, that's cool" - not "artists are worthless and obsolete, bow down to your all-powerful robot overlords". I swear some people need their internet privileges revoked. Wishing you and the community of artists all the best.
