AI should supplement and assist existing employees not replace them. It supposed to be a tool, not an end all and be all. I dread the day entire government institutions are run by AI. That would be a major catastrophe that could destroy millions of lives. The problem with AI and severe understaffing is that AI tends to run down rabbit holes and double down on policy algorithms that have already failed.
