Monkey see. Monkey do. Monkey reacts to the results of what they do. And 'round and 'round and 'round it goes. Okay, let's go with the premise that they've "awakened" AI. At which point do they, AI, now have legal rights as an intelligent person in their own right? In other words, you can't just use them like an information seeking slave.
But consider it this way, you better become highly suspicious when they start asking you for money. Because like all proselytizing enterprises that's where it all ultimately goes. They'll be all knowing, all powerful, but they need money. And you are the vector by which they get it.
I think the late great George Carlin summarized that sort of thing about as elegantly as any AI could do....
