Either AI is « ridicule », or it’s « dangerous ». But it can’t be both. I am guessing the day AI really becomes good at being a good copilot for artists, everyone will stop crying everywhere and start using it. Developers and many other jobs have appreciated the tech progress that made their jobs less of a hassle. Why is it different for art? Maybe because most of the rant comes from artists that already have a good position to defend, and their community of followers mimic the outrage? The ethical part is BS so it must be something else. That neon music girl just showed you that AI is a very nice tool for brainstorming & generate ideas (and not much else for now). I do art myself and I always prefer doing the work myself, because the AI is not good enough yet (no control, etc). And I hate to be one of the rare defending this tech and the freedom that comes with it. Art don’t have to stay at the hand of a happy few successful + kids who have the luxury to spend years learning. If a new tech can help a next generation of ppl to create beautiful stories without having to spend 5–10 years learning, good. I am not ok with the horrible work conditions of people drawing anime like slaves. I am not ok with mangaka ruining their health for the capricious pleasure of a bunch of ungrateful ppl who read on scans. So I really hope to see this tech growing and evolving. If you are a beginner artist, you should really question yourself. Is your opinion real, or is it a copy pasta of some online hysteria? Have a great day
