What these AI company needs to do is allow artists to monetize their AI data if they choose to Opt in. Or hire artists who are willing to share their work for the AI. If we are going to have to accept this, then at least pay the artists what they deserve. And with every AI generation of an artist's data, it needs to incentivize through monetization. I personally love these AI art, but not at the expensive of other artists. I am especially against the backlash against artists who speak out against their data being stolen. Even with everything said above, this is no doubt going to affect the industry in a big way where new artists are going to be discouraged to want to learn new things. I know 3D artists are going to be in a world of hurt very soon as well and this is just the beginning.
