This is point on. The jobs change, but they don't disappear. It's like the fear of bookkeepers, that the computer will lead to massive reduction in bookkeepers, because the majority of their work is calculating and writing things down. Suddenly, bookkeepers were much more efficient doing this. But instead of less bookkeepers, we got more. Because they now were able to expand bookkeeping from "purely passive keeping" to "actively optimizing". Suddenly, the bookkeeping expanded into controlling. And companies were able to reduce stock due to active stock management. And so on. This is the same in basically every application of a new technology. It changes, it doesn't replace. And for 5 industrial revolutions, it always caused more employment and more productive employment. PS: Of course there are certain applications, where AI can in fact reduce a lot of the workforce. But all these jobs are jobs where you have a finite workload. For example doctors checking MRT pictures. There are only a certain number of MRTs needed. And now, with AI being really perfect to check these, you only need 1 remote doctor, to check the AI results instead of doing the checking themselves. This reduces the workload by 95%. This actually reduces the need for MRT doctors. But do you really think, these doctors will become unemployed? Or will they rather just become other types of doctors?
