As far as I was aware after doing some research—DA didn’t directly use Deviations for their dataset (Yes they used a dataset that was already problematic, which is it’s own issue, but I digress) the “opt in” option wasn’t for dreamup. It was for future datasets exclusively. Now, why they wouldn’t make opting out the default is still a valid point, however it’s less of a “nyeheh if we wait a few hours we can get more free art” and more of a lack of understanding of how the community sees AI art. It’s still incredibly problematic, but not nearly as directly hostile to the community as you made it sound. Even so, I appreciate the video
