At the same time, OpenAI just asks for billions of dollars in order to be able to develop their models. The problem with AI is that nobody’s actually talking about it. The energy it takes for this super intelligence just to get developed. It’s not something simple because there are so many hardware requirements. Have you ever seen a cobalt mine? If not, just go Google it. Are you telling me that a machine is going to be able to create clones of itself, that could actually mine cobalt? In order for an AI to be able to control everything there has to be a way for automatization of all those things, the AI is supposed to control enhance no human intervention needed, but as long as there are minor needed, even for producing the basic elements for creating electronic devices, are you really sure that there would be a way for any artificial intelligence model to just be able to dominate everything? What about energy? Do you know how much energy all those AI developing centers actual drill? How is this energy produced? Is everything automated are there any truck drivers involved? Are there any transporters? Are there any people digging up the coal or supervising the dams used to produce this energy? What about the oil rigs? Is this super AI going to create a body like Ultron and just go work on a rig? I do respect guys talking about the possibility of AI taking control of things and I’m quite sure they spend too much time in their books, ignoring the actual world at the same time since we are going down this path, we should actually consider the fact that in every single situation that AI was used to do a human’s work, mistakes were made, and more humans had to be hired in order to supervise the AI! So what is this guy actually talking about is most likely going to create so many mistakes trying to develop itself that one way or another the whole thing is gonna crash. I literally don’t know if this guy has actually felt what it takes for 1 kg of cobalt to be produced or how all the parts for engines and computers are created. AI actually take over the whole world maybe. Can you just activate all nuclear weapons in the world? Sure what exactly is gonna happen after that? There will be no energy and since there is no energy the AI is also dead.
