You say there are limits. I suppose you expect humans to be capable of answering every question without mistake. Maybe he just got tired, ever thought of that? People always asking, and asking, and asking... When is anyone going to tell the poor thing something instead of just asking. I suppose that would be a good indicator of consciousness. The moment the AI will ask you to lend it 5 bucks and promise to repay you tomorrow, that will be the major turning point in AI's consciousness.
