Thanks, Bernie. I teach at a regional comprehensive university, and our system is “All-in” on training students to use AI because the claim is that employers want employees to be AI literate. There’s a lot of debate about this in the humanities. Given what you say here, I wonder if this training of students for jobs using AI isn’t a momentary blip since they’ll be working to make themselves obsolete. Is there any likelihood that this focus on AI could be beneficial to workers? Isn’t there a tipping point where there’s no one to buy the products being spewed out by these companies and therefore no profits to be made?
