We’re not in a simulation. That mainly works when you think on a macro level. But life is at all levels. What algorithm in the simulation makes me smell bad when I sweat a lot, and what makes that smell change depending on where the sweat comes from (forehead vs. armpits)? What simulation makes Dove deodorant work better on my sweat than old spice?
What algorithm decides how long my wife’s menopause is? Or what changes her period lengths? Why does cilantro taste great to me but taste like soap to my son? Why wouldn’t this “AI simulator” we’re supposedly living in change things about the world that limit AI?
