Hi! I'd like to anonymously state my opinion on this topic. Firstly, I'd like to start by saying that I'm NOT an AI bro, nor am i an artist; I'm just a random citizen and I'll be completely neutral and be fair to both sides. Everything you said in video is true, I don't have any problem with any of it. Using generative AI is infact stealing art ESPECIALLY if that AI is trained on pictures from unconsenting people. All that being said, i think that there are still *some* (questionably) ethical stuff you can do with AI: I sometimes use suno to generate random songs, but i NEVER take credit for it or make any kind of profit. I only listen to it myself for fun, and I think that it’s okay for people to use AI for fun AS LONG AS they don't take credit for stuff they didn't make AND don't profit out of it. I have some OCs that only live in my head as a concept since i can't actually draw them myself, so i asked a REAL artist friend if she could draw it for me, and i didn't want her to waste her time drawing the wrong thing, so i used AI to generate some references only for the placement of stuff (hair accessories, colors etc.) Which looked terrible, but that's okay since the actual final art is drawn by a real human artist. When i say "reference", I only mean where stuff are placed like accessories, and NOT stuff like shading because I know that it's terrible at that. (I know that i could just draw the reference myself but it just looks so bad, it's even uglier than AI somehow 😭 I'm inconfident at drawing) Another thing i use AI for is sometimes when i make datapacks for minecraft, i ask it stuff like "how can i implement this?" To get the GENERAL idea, and NOT the entire code; I still write all the code myself. Also, I recently started learning Ren'py but since i don't have anyone willing to teach me, and tutorials are unhelpful for me, i have to ask AI for that, knowing that it makes a lot of mistakes. For example, i once asked it how i can put variables in a dialog, and it told me to use {curly brackets}, which gave me an error because it's actually supposed to be [square brackets] 😭 I acknowledge that AI makes a lot of mistakes, but it still helps me learn even if it takes a longer time. Oh also, it's worth mentioning that there are different types of AI: people in the art community often say they hate AI, but what they actually mean is that they hate GENERATIVE AI. Because AI is everywhere: that social media algorithm that showed you this video, that minecraft cow's pathfinding, that one chess bot (...) What I'm saying is that there are ethical and unethical stuff people can use AI for and different types of AI for that, but the one that sticks out the most is generative AI since it has more unethical uses than ethical. I hope no one cancels me for this comment lol. You're free to try to change my mind about stuff if you'd like to argue. Also, completely unrelated but i really wish I could draw good 💔 People often say like "everyone can draw if they try" but i don't agree. I think that some people are just not built for it y'know. I will still try one day tho, and i hope you guys can help me with it when the time comes. I once saw some an ex AI bro having a character development and turning into a real artist lol. That's kinda inspiring. Damn, I wanna continue talking but idk what else to say lol. I'm bored... whatever, i guess i can comment under the replies if i think of anything else.
