All it has are the patterns. The pictures that look like a perfect copy were made by feeding the AI the original picture. Yes, if you do that, rather than start with seeded random noise, you'll get a close copy - but that has nothing to do with the AI's training set. Music is different because there are only 12 notes and so many ways to arrange them. Also, musicians don't own the rights to their songs, even if they wrote them. They're (mostly) all owned by the record labels. 4) It's a bit ironic that Artstation users protested their work being copied, but a LOT of the work on that site is unauthorized copies of many popular IP's. 5) Finally - Copyright has gotten so egregious I can't be mad at the "theft". Copyright was supposed to INCREASE the size of the Public Domain. Creators would have a limited window of time (ten to twenty years) to make money from their work before it became public property. All of the works created during my lifetime are still locked away. So I view this as a sort of restoring the balance. Finally the public gets some use out of all the art created over the past decades. It's returning what we never should have lost.
