This is an easy question to answer. If the work that is being used to train this AI was your work and you poured your sweat and tears into this over a fair amount of time. Do you feel someone should be able to profit off your hard work and make large amounts of money off your work without you getting a dime? That is what happen here.
Let face it very few like having to pay for artistic work or any work but if you enjoy and want them to produce more they need to be compensated. No different than your employer paying for work you have done.
