Software engineer here who specialised in AI back in college... I refuse to refer to these as "AI", I call them "Generative Algorithms" because that's pretty much what they are, a clever use of statistical models to bash together an approximation of the input prompt, but there is no "intelligence" involved, the algorithm has no concept of what it is creating, it only knows that stuff tagged as "X" has an statistical percentage of matching a prompt for "X".
Don't misunderstand me, it is a cool technology with actual interesting use cases... But "AI" is more of a marketing buzzword, and as the video on poisoning them points out, these data models collapse the moment they don't have constant quality input.
Thanks for letting me know about Nightshade and Glaze, Lavender, I will most certainly try to apply these tools to whatever art I might upload in the future 👍
