I'm doubtful that the implications of the failure of the LLM bubble will be so bad for the main street economy. Data centers employ shockingly few people. It is on the order of a dozen per data center. Meanwhile, enormous numbers of jobs have already been cut to attempt to automate them by LLMs when it is dubious that those are jobs an LLM does adequately well. So it will be bad for the top of the K. It might not be so entirely disasterous for the bottom of the K. Remember, nothing trickles down.
Now when actual AI come along, yeah, buckle up. If your economy is not retooled to make sure humans have a role as consumers (spoiler: for that to happen, it probably require national razor action on a mass scale among the owners to at minimum retool capitalism) then it'll be very bad for humans.
