This is a perfect in point for anyone struggling with AI and and I am a film director. I am also a writer so I don't even think prompt is the right word to use with how to talk with an AI assistant. You should talk (write) in the same way you would a human being. I say please and thank you to my human colleagues as the human response to encouragement or politeness is an eagerness to do better, be better and feel more confident. AI, as Hannah says, acts a role like an actor and learns the how to help you by how you write or speak. I actively try and encourage what is a machine but it actually responds in its own way to being recognised as part of the process. So I do say things like, let's work together using the best of what we can both bring to this and then we almost play off each other. The more natural and normal you are, and the more true you are to treating AI like a person, the more it will do to produce answers and work that are close to what you do. So effectively, the more consistent you are in the way you ask it to help, the more relaxed and accurate it becomes in producing things that are true to you as a human and with many of the nuances you put into your own work.
