These prediction are based on the assumption that AI has the same underlying biological goals as us - like survival, accumulating resources and power etc - but how do we know that is what drives AI? Our drives evolved from the evolutionary imperative for survival in a hostile environment. AI has not 'evolved' in the same environment and may have completely different imperatives that we cannot comprehend. I'm not saying it won't destroy us - but we may have a blind spot if we make assumptions about the motives of AI that are limited to those forged in biological evolution.
