I don't agree with your opinion, but I understand it. To me, an algorithm is just more ethical than the likely alternative: child slavery. If there aren't machines to break down your styles into mathematical computations, humans have and will do the same with say, manufacturing fake reproductions as originals (and look at how the post-death art market is starting to crash, thank god). Is revenge porn with AI wrong? Absolutely. Is the fact generators are being used for propaganda a problem? Yes. But you can't close Pandora's Box once it's opened. That's why you're trying to "poison the well", but if you represent only 0.0001% of the algorithm, your poison is so infinitesimally small that you only are doing it to make yourself sleep better at night. My dream, and hope, is to one day have a self-created world in full dive VR: and that means artists are going to get fucked. But to be honest? Artists have been getting fucked even before feudalism and they will continue to get fucked in the future. So I don't know what you're expecting... rights? You don't look at the abyss that is the dystopian nightmare of our world and come out hopeful that law and order will protect your creative integrity. We'd have to stop utilizing slavery and child sweat shops before we would even dream to care about artists.
