Genuine question but if everything was automated on earth to fund a handful of people's extravagant lifestyles like they seem to want, and the rest of us all were starved out, they would have no creative works being made, sure an ai might make a film or a book or a game or an art piece, but it cant come up with new ideas, just mix cliches, it will eventually be the same story recycled again and again under a different coat of paint, and it would get very very boring fast, not to mention a world where only 1% of the population exists anymore, is going to feel EXTREMELY lonely and empty. Also i have a strong feeling if 100% of all wealth was extracted from the bottom up, theyd eventually be extracting wealth from each other next as the distribution gets smaller and smaller until it's one guy with the big number and now the currency is objectively worthless at the cost of societal collapse. What's the goal? The world goes into ruin to give a few people who already have everything, even more money.. to do what with? Having a "high score?" All the money in the money doesnt matter if there's no longer a system to give it meaning, If you break a game, buy everything in the store, every upgrade, then max out the counter, then make it so nobody else can play, then what? If everyone on earth is slowly starved out along the way, then yeah humanity could go extinct, or maybe a handful will have an extremely boring life with zero innovation to look forward to, and for what gained? Kinda seems like destruction for destructions sake at the macro level. Most normal people have aspirations to leave some kind of legacy, something to be remembered for, but apparently some either want to destroy the concept of legacy by leaving no one to remember anything, or just never planned further than "oh well the world ended at least I got mine out of it," it's like if the villain wins in a story, there is almost never a "and then what?" planned for what to do next.
