If that was me driving I couldn't have stopped in time,because she came out of the dark.
They are saying the autonomous system was turned off when the women was hit. Like a deer coming out of the ditch on a dark road.
Even if the system was on, the car doesn't scan both lanes or the car coming the other way would trigger the breaks on the autonomous car.
