I use ChatGPT and other AI apps in my teaching. I also encourage students to use those apps responsibly. However, let's be real: Humans will always find the easiest way to accomplish their goals. As much as I love teaching and learning, most people just want instant gratification. AI, the Internet, and all the devices that connect with them allow parents, learners, and even teachers to get instant access to entertainment, information, etc. The average person will have knowledge as wide as a lake and as shallow as a pond. And after COVID-19 we can see that people growing up from 2020 and on will be less likely to have human skills. AI must be used responsibly and it can benefit educators and students, but it it is relied upon, then humans will become less critically thinking (susceptible to propaganda), shorter attention spans, lack inter-personal skills, and lower IQ/EQ levels. Educators have an uphill battle...
