AI is a tool many can leverage over a wide range of jobs. It’s hardly a panacea, it will make things up as it tries to give you the answer it thinks you want to hear. Just like spreadsheets, word processors and presentation software it is a valuable tool. It can increase productivity if carefully managed. However, you do need to bring young people in and put them on a path to grow so you created skilled people for the next level of leadership. I think companies are blaming AI for their ineptitude the past few years around poor hiring management. They thought the economy was going to continue to grow and when it didn’t they went looking for excuses.
