There's another question that is much more important and missed entirely if we frame the conversation purely economically. If we fire all the workers who will the manager lord over. The desire for power and recognition transcends the desire for wealth (aka resources) when resources are abundant. And an AI, as much as you program it, will never fear, dread or worship you. If there is one thing absolutely visible in the behavior of all the psychopaths, sociopaths and narcisists in the top 10k richest people (aka: all of them) is the desire for absolute power and control. For the top 100 they are basically at the point of wanting to be gods. Power is power and nothing else replaces the qualia of it.
