You just need to be uber detailed with your prompts, give it example code snippets of what not to do. Provide it guidance on level of abstraction, tell it to generate unit test cases for critical logic. I have a coding principles doc where I keep sample do’s and don’ts. By providing it this level of detail you collapse the probability space for poorly written code. This is why real developers will not get replaced by vibe coders. I use Claude professionally and work on complex systems and I don’t have this quality issue. If you say build this for me then yes it will go to crap.
