It's like saying someone isn't a real pianist because they use an electric piano keyboard as their primary way to practice piano. It's the same basic skill, just using a different medium. You still need to understand music and perform the same basic hand motions to play a piano and a piano keyboard.
I still use my hands to move a pen to create marks on the surface of my tablet just like I would do on paper. Sure, there are tools that make it easier, but physical analogues for those tools exist. Compasses to make circles, rulers to measure and have straight lines, etc.
