Prompting AI is really just another layer of abstraction. Its a tool to make coding faster. You still need to know programming, how data flows, scope out detailed requirements to prompt with. Its also a powerful learning tool and tutor. Programming will change as it did when more modern languages came out.
Its also not perfect. You will need to double check it, and know how to prompt with detailed requirements. In the end though its a huge huge time saver.
