The problem with arguing against inspiration in AI is that the examples used are linear models with linear requests and strict adherence to requests. Most AI control systems allow you to tweak parameters to achieve something. If you add several models with different tasks, you get something new. Not necessarily adequate or better, but new.
Btw, the camera did not destroy painting, and AI will not destroy digital artists, fighting it is useless neo-Luddism. Luddites were against specific technologies that began to displace them, and not against everything, so the fact that you are not against other technologies does not make you less of a neo-Luddite.
