The investors have 0 incentive to stop investing, especially when our government is doubling down on AI, so under this administration Id predict a speed up. We are in an AI arms race vs China. Which - is another can of worms. China and other countries likely give no merit to the morals of AI. They are funding more than us in AI and Quantum computing right now. Its a tech frontier, people weren't sure of computers and touch screens either, but its important that Americans have the pinnacle of technology. 2. Saying you havent seen practical use is anecdotal. I work with artists, programmers and designers in various fields and I know MANY that use AI for prototyping, ideation, and almost as a google replacement. Its extremely common outside of your perceived bubble. 3. NFTs and AI are not comparable. Theyre just entirely different, NFTs are barely new tech and they offered nothing but moving money around. Anecdotally speaking I never saw people defend it as inevitable and I could observe the quick downfall in hype and limitations of NFTS. Meanwhile AI is actually a new tech tool that has trillions of dollars in government funding world wide to advance and improve it, and has shown sticking power since its already been around for awhile. This is why it is inevitable. I'd be very, very, very surprised if AI fell off in any manner in the coming years. I know that a strong amount of students and the workforce already use it regularly in its current state. Its beyond tech bros funding. This is more like the Cold War And none of this is to say that Im pro AI, frankly it terrifies me. But I think its very wishful thinking to assume its not going to keep advancing or any person can stop it. I honestly think WW3 could happen and it would speed up the research for usage in war. Theres just no angle where humans give up on AI right now. Id love to be wrong in the coming years though.
