What about making an expert machine to get real lawyers to understand some prolog grammar and answer questions?
Then whenever the machine deduces a wrong answer an answer it could ask a real expert to peer review the rules used by its induction engine and highlight any errors/exceptions/over-simplifications.
Surely the law would go hand in hand with logic programming (and its been around long enough).
The US military uses AI for logistics and planning (though DART is common LISP AFAIK)
