Literally the only practical things stopping them from taking every position are cost--which can easily be mitigated through scaling--and legal accountability. For instance, a CPA signing your return as paid preparer or a CEO having to sign a SOX report for a company's 10-K. But even these... how long until these regulations are lobbied out? How long until people would rather just assume the entire risk of their tax return being incorrect and have an AI do it for next to nothing? Eerie stuff.
