Why would a machine that has no personality, no subjectivity, no self, want to have self preservation, a "survival instinct"? Unless this is artificially programmed into the AI I doubt it will come about spontaniously?! The AI insn't actually thinking, it is executing code which looks like thinking. I don't think we have anything to fear on the machine side, but we have to be very careful of the intentions of the human coder! that's where the danger lies, in my veiw!
