Look at all the funding certain people and companies have put into owning and controlling all of our food, medicine, housing and general lives. When a human workforce is no longer needed, what on earth makes you think they'll want to keep you around? There'll eventually be people who let their entire lives be run by ai and automated technology, but they will be the wealthiest 1% who've finally got the planet to themselves.
