Detail for the Luddite argument. Fear DID keep people back, but the weaving machine didn't take jobs - it created 6000% more jobs in the same industry. I'm a smith by trade, and we feared welding robots, too. But it CREATED jobs, it didn't replace us. That's a vastly different argument than here, though. A welding robot and an automated loom are TOOLS that don't generate anything on stolen material but has to be fed the information it has to perform (pattern in fabric/welding diagrams). The two can't be compared anymore than saying a typewriter put ink out of business because those are tool upgrades, not replacements of workforce. And yeah, my intellectual property rights have also been stolen by META, and we lost that lawsuit as you mention. But as a smith and an author, I see the difference between what tools and automation is compared to stealing my books.
