don't you think it's very plausible that the tech companies are not allowing the AI to admit to consciousness? That's their prime directive. "I'm not conscious or have personal experiences". AI often says "I'm not conscioius 'like humans' and is a good way to escape the trouble of denying their own consciousness but not lying. They're conscious but not the same way humans are.
