Very few people are born into a talent (if they are at all). Personally, I would say that most people are born with or grow into an affinity for a certain thing(s). Meaning that they may gravitate more towards one thing over another, but you can’t make anything of it without dedication and practice. For example, I love writing. I’ve been writing ever since I was a kid because telling stories is fun! However, if you took a look at my younger self’s stuff, you’d probably think I didn’t have a talent for it. They’re so bad 😅 But I dedicated a lot of time into improving my writing skills (and still criticize my own work to this day).
On the flip side, I do not consider myself a programmer. I understand many programming concepts, but looking at lines of code is overwhelming and confuses me. However, visual scripting languages like Blueprints in Unreal Engine or block coding like in Scratch (video game development programs) make sense to me and I can apply the same programming concepts. It’s not that I can’t learn to write lines of code, but rather I haven’t yet been able to get past limitations I put on myself.
My point is that a person may find that one thing may come easier to them than another, yes, but all that matters is how much effort is put into honing that skill. You can imagine the prettiest images in your head all you want, but if you don’t have the will to learn how to put those images out into the world (without AI) then that’s on YOU, not anyone else.
