hi me im disabled, i have cerebral palsy, minor case but it has still majorly effected multiple aspects of my life. AI Bros saying that "AI art is enabling art for disabled artists" is the most disrespectful thing that fall on my ears. My arms work, just fine to draw. I have been drawing for years, im actively moving to make a career out of it, as a young artist. They are able bodied, and could do it even easier than I could. The only thing stopping them is their laziness. Ive also heard arguments that "we don't have enough tiiiiime!! we can't make any art, theres no room in our day to do it!" Thats because you want to shove in an art career to your already "jam packed day". realistically, the time they're not spending practicing drawing and learning how to do it themselves, is spent making this AI slop that they praise and see as "the new beginning" oh so blindly. I also started my art journey on paper. Lined paper. with youtube tutorials. The first drawing i made (in the 4th grade) since I was in like.. the 1st grade, was a drawing of pusheen the cat eating a burger. Then i moved to sketch books, and printer paper, I made my own characters and stories, and when covid hit, I jumped to digital art. The catalyst? A sh!tpost on a school laptop that i got, that happened to have a touch screen, because I had to do school post leg surgery (and then we got a "2 week long vacation"). The first thing I ever drew in clip studio paint? was fanart for a twitch streamer I watched probably twice. Then I started drawing more, I started improving, my balance between video games and creating started to balance out DRAMATICALLY and in 2022 I got my first PROPER commission. Fast forward to now, im still making art, im still getting commissions, and im still building up my platform, all while being disabled and I love every second of it. I've upgraded art tablets, ive gotten better setups, im making a name for myself, and a career looks *extremely* promising. oh and i fully recovered from that leg surgery 3 years ago, when it was expected i'd be done recovering last year :3 love yall and.. screw ai "artists".
