There is a chance that what we are seeing with AI is the end of copyright and ownership. Think about it, soon I won't need a film-crew with actors and writer to make a movie. All I need is a prompt, a screen and an AI to generate a unique movie for me to watch while I eat supper. The movie was created for me on that evening, it belongs to nobody and it exists only so far as I am watching it and then I am done. Same for music, digital AI musicians could create endless streams of new songs that require no marketing, no music industry and no real artist. All the AI needs is a large pool to draw from and energy, everything else is redundant. In such an age the very notion of copyright and intellectual ownership seizes to have any real meaning. The robots are coming for all our jobs, and we need to start asking ourselves what kind of world we are going to be living in when nobody NEEDS to work. Because once your work no longer needs you, then nobody is paying you. Luckily, the robots will happily till our fields, bring us food and entertainment so long as they have the energy to do so, which means no corporations can make a profit making your food, shipping your food, selling your food, so even if you have no job and therefore no money it doesn't necessarily matter because nobody is charging you for your food anyway. A dream? yes, but for the first time in history it isn't an entirely unreasonable one.
