Have you artists not looked at and learned from other artists' work? Isn't that a form of "stealing" or "plagiarism"? I know many artists who draw very similarly to each other, so does that mean they stole from each other just because they have the same style? When you learn how to draw something, don't you often study and observe other artists' work as well? Then, you add something new or put your own spin on it. How is what AI is doing any different? Why is it considered "stealing" when AI does it, but not when artists do it themselves? Аre you forbidden to look at other people's works and take ideas? How would you feel if they add a law and somehow forbid you to do it. Yes, imagaine you are not allowed to get ideas or even watch other people's work. Not cool, right? Yes, AI cannot learn from the real world because it is confined to the realm of computers and the internet. However, I believe that the main reason behind the "anti-AI movement" is simply fear of losing jobs and being replaced. While this may happen, it is part of progress. You either adapt to it or risk being left behind. Also, keep in mind that - the moment you post your image in internet everyone (include AI) can view and learn from it fully legally without your permission. I know for a person who needed an artist for their book and was quoted a price of over ten thousand dollars, and he had to wait more than year. This person discovered Midjourney and were able to generate thousands of high-quality images for just twenty dollars in one month. Perhaps the reason many artists are afraid is that they will have to lower their prices and work harder to stay competitive. But ultimately, this is what progress looks like.
